About
This site is my personal blog and where I document what I am doing and where I am going in life. As I work towards becoming a system administrator and hopefully devopts or cybersecurity at some point. I will be documenting my progress here.
Not just the hard skills about building systems that don’t blow up, but also mental skills that are arguable just as important.
You can’t build a system that runs reliably for years, if you ignore your own system.
So this is were I will try to dial that in and build a better version of myself. I will share what I am eating to build my system back up, what struggles I face and what exercises I am doing to go from skinny to fit.
I will also be documenting some of my builds here. I am currently working on building a home router from a protectli V1210 for my home network, and also a media server that behaves and just lets me host my own media without too much interference from me.
I’ve also got plans to take an old Dell Optiplex and install proxmox on it so I can build a home hacking lab that I can use to learn more about cybersecurity and red/blue teaming. It is probably one of my most ambitious goals on this site so be on the lookout for that.
I like to do things the hard way for some reason, so here you will also find some deep dives into server hardening, configuring networks and also configuring my workflow, which includes my system as well.
